Gary A. Jewell, CPA
After operating accounting practices in Raleigh for 33 years Gary joined Pittard, Perry & Crone in November, 2010 in the Raleigh office as a shareholder. Gary has a passion for small business and has guided hundreds of small business owners during his career. He regularly counsels clients on business development issues as well as accounting, income tax, and management concerns. He also counsels individuals on income tax and estate planning solutions. He taught entrepreneurship for Junior Achievement over 12 years.
Gary is a member of the National Federation of Independent Businesses, the NCACPA and the Wake County Estate Planning Council. Currently, he is Treasurer and a Director of His Image Ministries (formerly Malestream Ministries).
He is active in his community of Clayton, NC where he holds a quasi-judicial position on the Clayton Board of Adjustment. He is President of the Friends of the Clayton Library. Gary’s commitment to service above self is evidenced by his devotion to the Clayton Rotary Club where he has been a member for over a decade, is Past President and is recognized as a Double Paul Harris Fellow. He was a founding Director of the House of Hope in Clayton.
Gary is a very active member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church where he first taught Sunday School in 1989 and continues today. He is a Deacon, Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee, and an active member of the choir.
Gary currently serves as Director of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation where he served for many years as Treasurer. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is a foundation that he personally believes in supporting to help find a cure for diabetes.
A proud pirate, Gary is a graduate of East Carolina University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with emphasis on Accounting. He is an avid mountain biker and can be found regularly on the local tennis courts. In his spare time, he can be found working diligently in his garden.
